What is a team building course?
|
|
A team building course is a challenging outdoor personal development and team building activity consisting of both low, high and water elements.
|
|
Anyone who has a group that could benefit from working together qualifies.
|
|
|
Is a team building course the same thing as a challenge course or ropes course?
|
|
Yes and they are sometimes referred to as obstacle courses or commando courses.
|
|
|
Does everyone get to participate?
|
|
Yes, in some fashion everyone gets involved, whether through experiencing or support.
|
|
|
Is there a minimum number of participants?
|
|
To have good team interaction we try and keep the groups at 6 or greater.
|
|
|
Is there a maximum number of participants?
|
|
Not really, as long as we have enough time to prepare.
|
|
Your team should expect to spend a fun filled day in the great outdoors working together to accomplish tasks, playing games that help everyone get to know each other on a higher level, and learning to trust one another in sticky situations.
|
|
Wear clothing appropriate for weather conditions. Be sure to wear closed toe shoes (sneakers are recommended) for woods trekking.
|
|
|
What should we bring with us?
|
|
Sun screen, bug repellant, hat, sun glasses, etc.
|
|
|
How long does it take to complete a course?
|
|
A group of 6 to 10 should be able to complete a course in about 4 hours.
|
|
$144 per group (minimum of 6). $24 dollars for each additional guest.
|
|
|
What are the lodging options?
|
|
Either you can make your own hotel, or camping reservations, or we could do it for you.
|
|
Not as a rule, however it can be arranged to have meals catered in.
|
|
|
What if the weather conditions are unfavorable?
|
|
Rain or shine we will still have fun, however in the case of lightning or high wind conditions we may have to reschedule. There will be more information about this when you sign up.
|
|
|
Do you offer additional team building programs?
|
|
Yes, we are offering a program that would have your group come visit our facility in spring summer or fall and then we would do a follow up visit at your facility during the winter months. The price for this package would be $216 per group (minimum of 6). $36 dollars each additional participant. That is only $12 dollars more than the single package.

Do you have certified facilitators?
|
|
Yes. All of our facilitators will be certified through ABEE (Adventure Based Experiential Educators Incorporated) and according to ACCT (Association for Challenge Course Technology) standards.

Yes, it is safe. Everything we do will be within the strict safety standards of the ACCT. Also, the equipment is inspected daily by staff and also will be periodically inspected by ABEE.

How early do I need to show up for my event?
|
|
30 minutes prior to tour appointed time should be adequate.
|
|
|
What should I expect in terms of surroundings?
|
|
Expect to be surrounded by a beautiful forest of trees and 2 lakes. It is a quiet and picturesque location. Expect a true backwoods experience, with outhouse included.
|
|
Yes, children groups should be no younger than 4th grade up to any healthy age.
|
|
|
Will concessions be available?
|
|
Yes.
|

When are your hours of operation?
|
|
Spring and Fall 2012 hours are 9 am - 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
Fridays by reservation only.
Memorial Day thru Labor Day: OPEN 5 DAYS A WEEK

Zipline Canopy Tour FAQ

Zip lining is an outdoor activity that is both unique and thrilling, where participants are suspended from an aircraft cable via a carabineer and pulley high above the canopy. The participant then travels along the cable producing a once in a lifetime exhilarating experience.

What does the creek bottom tour include?
|
|
It includes a 40-foot climbing wall (climbing wall is optional we also have access via stairs), three zips, and two sky bridges.
|
|
Yes you will have 2 guides. One that zips in front of the group and one will zip last.
|
|
|
Do you offer group rates?
|
|

Reservations are a good idea to ensure you are able to participate. We are expected to book up quickly.
|

Do you have a cancellation policy?
|
|
You are able to reschedule or cancel within 48 hours of your tour date. After that point, no refunds or rescheduling will be issued. If American Obstacle, Inc. has to cancel your tour time for whatever reason you will be able to reschedule or receive a full refund. A fee of 3% will be charged for canceled reservations.
Tickets are transferable. Make sure the person to whom you transfer the tickets to knows that they are required to fill out and sign a waiver form prior to any participation.

Our online transactions are processed through PayPal. When you pay with PayPal you do not need a PayPal Account. You can use your debit card or any major credit card .

What are the age and weight requirements?
|
|
Anyone, under the age of 14, is to be accompanied by a paying adult. Normal weight requirements are from 55 lbs. to 275 lbs.
|
|
|
Are there health requirements?
|
|
If you have average strength and mobility, and are in reasonably good health zip lining will be no problem. If you have a medical condition that would hinder you from being able to climb a flight of stairs or a heart condition you should consult your doctor before participating.
|
|
|
Can I zip if I am pregnant?
|
|
No, pregnant women will not be allowed on canopy tour.
|
|
|
What if I have a belly piercing?
|
|
Due to harness placement all body piercing should be removed prior to participation.
|
|
Closed toe shoes, no jewelry, long hair pulled back, and comfortable appropriate clothing.
|
|
|
How high will I be off the ground?
|
|
On average you will be 35-55 feet off the ground.
|
|
|
What is your rain policy?
|
|
Rain just makes it all the more fun but heavy rain or lightning will delay or postpone some tours. If there is any question it is best to call ahead.
|

The course was designed and built by certified contractors and to meet or exceed safety guidelines set by the ACCT(Association of Challenge Course Technology). The course is also inspected daily and periodically by outside sources to ensure that all equipment meets or exceeds standard safety requirements.

Can my child ride with me?
|
|
No, harnesses are designed for one occupant so each child will need to meet the weight requirements to be able to ride.
|
|
|
Will I be in a group with my friends/ family?
|
|
Our tour groups will consist of 10 participants. To ensure you are with friends/family reserve a tour time with enough available slots.
|
|
|
When do I need to arrive for my tour?
|
|
It is best to arrive 30 minutes prior to your tour time. This will give us time to receive waivers and suit up in our harnesses. The tour starts at scheduled times and we will be unable to wait on participants.

Will I need to sign a waiver?
|
|
Yes every participant will be required to sign a waiver. All minors will be required to have a parent or guardian sign also. Waivers can be obtained at the bottom of this page or the bottom of any page on this website. See our Waivers Page.
